Moments in May

Dusting off the blog today.

I have so many thoughts, feelings & emotions swarming around in my head....

and yet so little time to put those thoughts on "paper."

So for today, a quick blog of a few of our May moments.

Troy's best friend John (Nina & Max!), came into town for a visit.

Troy and John talk every Sunday....   but time together is very rare, as distance keeps us apart.

We enjoyed a trip to the zoo....

Lunch at our house...

(where Walt was so spoiled!)

And a couple's date night out.

Anyone can tell you, that I dread leaving Walt.  We've only had to do it a few times, and it's hard for me.  He goes wear we go.  But I will say that quiet time with Nina and John was special.

Others moments in May were with family and friends...

And for some of our closest friends....  the month of May brought a beautiful dream home!  Few things make my heart happier than to see dear friends (hard working, good-hearted, honest, loving friends!), reap what they sow.

We were so excited to make our first visit (goosebumps!) ...

Congrats Heather, Adam & baby Katherine!  We are over the moon for you!

May also brought Derby weekend.

But  instead of betting on the ponies, we spent Oaks Day in the air....

Derby Day 2015 was spent apartment hunting.....

.....in the new city that we'll soon call home.

We spent two full, LONG days, apartment hunting.  Going from one complex, to the next.  I can not even tell you how many times we hooked/unhooked Walt in and out of the car seat.

But he was a good little apartment hunter, and hung in there the entire way.

Troy and I were laying in the hotel room, after two long stressful days, when he said "tomorrow, I'd like to get Walt a little something at the airport before flying home.  He's been so good, and deserves a little treat."

I asked him what he wanted to get him (from the airport), and he said "you know....  like a little stuffed bull or something."

I told him that his intentions were awfully sweet, but that this was the airport .... not the Rodeo... and a cute little stuffed bull, probably wasn't happening.

My how I loved being proved wrong.....   as there's nothing sweeter (or sexier!), than seeing your strong, brilliant, husband standing in line to pay for a stuffed bull......the very bull that he hoped his son could carry onto the plane.

The bull that snuggled with Walt all the way back to Louisville.

May also brought Mother's Day....

and two other very memorable weekends.

One of them....  I'll always remember as one of the saddest.

And the other, one of the happiest.

More on that....

  later this week.

Thanks for reading!

Love,

Kristin
