Bucket List

Not a safari across an African savanna,  or a camel ride in Morocco.  Nor snorkeling the Great Barrier Reef, or New Years Eve in Time Square.  Not even a handshake with the Queen of England, or a conversation with the Pope.

But a pumpkin patch.

A little ol' pumpkin patch.

A tractor ride.

A cool crisp afternoon.

A sunny day and a bright blue sky.

With the loves of my life.

I've dreamed about this trip to the pumpkin patch for years.  It's simple, primitive, and certainly common.

But a bucket list item of mine, nonetheless.

I've thought about piles of pumpkins and hay bales and tractor rides...

A first trip out to the pumpkin patch.....

....and to see my very own family....

right in the middle of it.

And now, I can't help but to think about what a simple tractor ride out to that patch represents for me.

A gift, a blessing....

a life that I can't believe is mine.

It's funny what all can happen in a little ol' pumpkin patch.

A bucket list check mark....  a cherished memory, a new tradition.

And a silent prayer....

Thanking my God for His creation, His unfailing love and His goodness.

And of course.....

for a pumpkin patch.

Baby Mine

About a month after Walt was born, I happened to see that Dumbo was playing on the Disney Channel.  I showed him the tv, and was surprised that he would watch and listen.  I decided that we would snuggle up in bed and watch it.....

 his first movie. ;)

Oh.  My.  Word.

I sobbed like a baby.

I have seen Dumbo many times, but never remember it being so touching.

But becoming a Mommy makes you see things differently.

Even though I had watched the movie many times before....I had now decided that I'd never seen a movie so precious.

A baby changes everything.

With my new found love for the movie....  its message...  and knowing that I'd been singing "Baby Mine" to Walt since before he arrived....

his first Halloween costume was born....

I don't think I've ever seen anything sweeter!

Believe it or not, Troy was the one who decided that we needed to dress up too.  Even before we knew what Walt would be, Troy had suggested that we dress with him.  He said that he wanted Walt's first Halloween to be special.

Oh how I love my husband.

The ringmaster and Timothy the mouse, quickly came together to accompany our Dumbo....

We took Walt trick or treating at the zoo......

...with Jasmine (Mona!).....

.
...and Kristoff, Anna, and the tiniest sweetest Elsa you've ever seen!

(AKA:  Adam, Heather & Katherine)

Aren't their costumes out of this world??

Loved making new memories with wonderful friends....

Several people have asked where we got our costumes.  Troy's was ordered from a costume store online, and mine and Walt's were "semi-homemade."

We couldn't find a Dumbo costume small enough for him.... so we bought an elephant, and turned it into Dumbo.

For Timothy the mouse...  I bought a red chef's coat (the closest thing I could think of to a marching band jacket), and a little red hat......  and just fancied it up ;)

Loved making memories for Walt's first Halloween....

Loved that we were with friends who wanted to do the same...

Love that my husband already wants things to be special for Walt....

But more than anything....

love that this Baby is Mine.

Thanks for reading!

Love,

Kristin

3 Months!

Where have the last three months gone?

Our baby is no longer a tiny newborn, but a quickly growing infant, with a huge personality!

This post is really for me....  so that I can look back and remember some of his earlier smiles....earlier "conversations"....  his likes, his dislikes, milestones, etc.

His favorites (months 1-3):

For the first 3 months, his favorite place to be was against my chest.  I absolutely loved every second of it, and would hold him there for hours.  He loved to be against Daddy too.

If he couldn't be snuggling against us....  he also loved his swings.

His favorite activity was to be sung to, talked to (especially while on changing table), and he loved to get a bath.  Favorite toys were his musical giraffe (from Aunt Kandice), and anything that played music.

Dislikes:

His car seat and his pack-n-play...  hence, the dark looks ; )

People often comment on who he looks like.  The majority of people say that he looks like Troy, and my Dad/brother.  Every now and then I hear that he looks like me..  but not often ;)

And speaking of look-a-likes....   I don't think I've ever looked more like my own Mother......

A few more sweet photos of our baby.......

And a little footage from some of his first sounds.... conversations...  expressions, etc.,

....just for Troy and I.

Listening to our annoying baby talk voices, will be something you'll want to pass on.  But I wanted to have record of some of my favorite moments.

Like the way he would smile after I finished singing to him (as if he was thinking "that was so good Mom!")....  or the way he would pay attention and grin when I showed him a new toy....  his very serious expressions (so much Troy!!), and the way he would mimic our sounds and facial expressions.  All so sweet to us.
