Wrapping Up Summer

Lots of photos and memories from late summer.

A few from a summer Saturday at the Salato Wildlife Center...

Summer isn't summer without an outdoor dinner on the water...

MiMi and Manuel came to visit this summer!

We had some good friend time ....

Love our time with this family!!!

(Cheryl- I didn't get a picture of our summer lunch date!) : (

Maintaining friendships in today's world is not easy.  Life is so busy and investing into another relationship besides your family, takes dedication.  It means investing when you're too busy to invest, giving even when you're running low, and making it a priority.  It's tough.

I've learned over the years that the Lord brings people in and out of our lives through friendship.  I have a hard time with the "out" part.  If you're my friend, I want to keep you forever, and I truly grieve the passing of a true friendship.

Oh how grateful I am that these are my forevers!  That despite crazy schedules, or being in completely different seasons of life, or going awhile without seeing one another, that they are mine, always.

What a blessing .....especially in today's world....to have lifelong friends.

Walt had lots of friend time too this summer....

Many fun play dates!

A few photos of sweet time with the sweetest Aunts....

A cool summer day brought a trip to play at the farm....

....followed by a cool summer night at Beauty at the Beast on the river!

Walt had his 3 year old check up.....

....and said goodbye to his crib!

We took him shopping to pick out sheets for his new big boy bed......he was so proud, and so precious!

And while this sweet baby may still be in a crib .....

....she did get upgraded to her big girl car seat!

Summer also brought a sandbox built by the one and only, Grandad!  It's huge, and gorgeous and will bring memories for years to come!

And those random phone photos from normal, every day life, that I can never bring myself to delete...

We closed summer with one last visit (and goodbye photo!) to the pool...

Fall is in the air.

Bring on pumpkin everything!
