Halloween Weekend

I promise that this is the last of the fall Halloween photos!

We spent Halloween Eve baking goodies (Mommy), and carving a pumpkin (Daddy).

We chose this year's pumpkin design, thinking of, "It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," and the fact that we often call Walt, "Linus."  For as long as I can remember, he has carried around his little blue blanket, just like Linus.

We watched the holiday special many times this year.  I was surprised at how much Walt enjoyed it, and also at some of the things they say in a CHILDREN'S program!?  A thought I want to record for my own memory....
I can't tell you how many times I've seen this Charlie Brown special, and yet, I've never heard the language they use until now.  It's funny how differently you hear and see everything, when you have an innocent baby on your lap.  I cringed with every "stupid," and hateful word.
Why can't the children's shows be as innocent as they are? : (

An evening of fall baking, pumpkin carving, and "It's The Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown," made for the perfect Halloween Eve.

We spent Halloween morning playing at home...

....and that evening we took Walt to a handful of homes for trick-or-treating!

He doesn't really know about candy yet, but did understand to choose a piece, and then drop it into his trick or treat bag.  I thought it was so cute.  I know these people thought I was nuts, as I would squeal every time he did it.  It was just so sweet and big boy to me.

Ending this post with my favorite Halloween week memory.

Our gender ultrasound appointment was the most BOO-tiful part of our week!!

As we left, the people in the waiting room had to have thought that something was wrong.  I could not stop the quiet tears.

Tears of overwhelming joy.

I still can't believe it!

A son and a daughter.

After the appointment, Walt and I headed to the park with my camera to take the gender reveal photos.  What a memorable day.

Hope you had a great Halloween!

Love,

Kristin

A Bit of Everything

This post is mainly fall photos from my phone.  Just random pictures from a little bit of everything.

One thing I think I'll always remember about this fall is how NON fall it felt.

As much as we tried to bring fall to Houston with a few decorations....

....our Halloween jammies...

....a fall treat on our lunch dates....

....and even a visit from the Great Pumpkin..

.....it never truly felt like fall.

There was no fall foliage .....no sweaters, or the sound of leaves crunching under your boots.

Instead, we spent a lot of fall at the swimming pool...

....or taking warm morning walks in our pajamas...

..
..and lots of trips to the park...  bottles of water and sunscreen in tow.

While a lot of the country was sipping their pumpkin spiced lattes and building bonfires....  our complex was hosting this....

It's definitely a fall I will always remember!

We spent one evening this month at Houston Methodist's Family Fun Night!

The hospital that Troy works for goes all out to show their appreciation to their employees.

There was a carnival, food, music... all complimentary to Methodist employees and their family.

Walt was able to run on the field where the Houston Texans play....  also home to the NCAA Final Four, and Superbowl 2017.

If you know Troy and I (and are lack of sports enthusiasm), you know that this excited Walt much more than it did us.  We live about 3 minutes from NRG stadium, and are already dreading the March Madness/Final Four traffic!

October also brought Walt's 15 month check up & vaccinations...

....and a virus with 104+ fevers  : (

The only positive to being sick, are the surprises that Daddy comes home with!

And here's another surprise from Daddy.

A month ago, Troy flew to Tampa to take Blood Transfusion Medicine boards.  After testing all day, and then flying for several hours, he got home late and exhausted.  But he took the time to show Walt the books that he picked up for him, and even sat down to read them to him.

And the best news of all....  we recently found out that Troy passed the boards! : )

A few pics from Halloween at the Children's Museum....

And a few random pics just for my memory...

I have one final Halloween weekend post and then October will be complete!

Thanks for continuing to follow us!

Love,

Kristin

More Pumpkins and Zoo Boo

I know that I blogged about our pumpkin farm visit yesterday.  But I'm not finished with pumpkin pictures quite yet.

I know.

I may have a problem with pumpkin patches.

But when Walt and I happened to stumble upon this little church patch...  I couldn't resist putting him in the middle of it.

And fortunately for me, Walt seems to have inherited the pumpkin patch loving gene from his Momma.

God love his little heart.

Here are some photos from the Halloween party at the Houston Zoo!

Most of you know by now that for family costumes....we took advantage of our year as Texans!!

We love family themed costumes!  And we know our years are numbered when it comes to doing it.  I'm soaking up every minute of these sweet Halloween years!

And the planning and making is part of the fun.

Walt and I visited Zoo Boo (sans costumes), again during the week.  There were no crowds, just mainly stay at home mommas.  So thankful for these days with my baby boy....

Two fall post down.... two to go!

Thanks for reading!

Love,

Kristin
