Zoo Party!

In continuation from the last post.....   here are some photos of our family costume fun!

Getting ready to leave for the Louisville Zoo's Halloween party....

This party hasn't changed much over the years...and yet, it keeps getting better for us!

Seeing Walt's enjoyment grow with each year is so much fun ....

....and to think.... that it will only get better!

I loved trick or treating as a family...

...and our Peter Pan was so sweet collecting his candy.

But I think my favorite part was having a stroller for two for this year's party.....  having Juliet makes these memories even more precious.

And for my own memory......

We had Peter Pan's entire entourage....  Tinker Bell, Wendy, Captain Hook, Tiger Lilly....but the one that received the most attention was by far, Mr. Smee.  He had multiple photo request from families and children, which was so fun.  His costume took the least amount of time, and cost much less than the rest....and yet... it was the favorite. ; )

What a memorable evening!

A couple of more fall post to come!

As always, thank you for reading!

Young at Heart

Shortly before Walt was born, a dear friend gifted us a pillow from the Peter Pan shop of Magic Kingdom.  The words "Never Grow Up," are stitched across it, and it still sits in the rocking chair of Walt's nursery.

As much as I love watching my babies grow, a part of me wishes that they could stay little forever.  I'm enjoying this phase of life so very much, and don't ever want it to end.  And I also love the idea behind Peter Pan's message of "never growing up..."  ....  to always be young at heart.

It was the inspiration behind this year's Halloween costumes....and Walt could not have been more excited.

He spent several afternoons playing in his costume....running through the back yard, hiding from pirates, and hunting for treasure.

Before becoming a mom, you could have never convinced me that I would have let my little one roll around in the leaves and climb trees in his Halloween costume.  A Halloween costume is to be kept nice...  for Halloween events only.

But then I became a Mom.

And my heart can't resist the joy in his face.

Even if it does mean a wrinkly, dirty costume for Halloween..

And the only thing as precious as Peter Pan, is this tiny Tinker Bell...

.....be still my heart.

Her first Halloween!

And who are Peter Pan and Tinker Bell without the rest of the crew?!?

When playing Peter Pan, Walt always has every character present and accounted for....

What we wouldn't do for our Peter Pan and Tinkerbell...   in hopes that in some ways, they never grow up....  always remaining young at heart.

Stay tuned for more photos of our Peter Pan family costume night out!  :)

Pumpkin Patch 2016

One of my favorite days of the year..... pumpkin patch day!

As I noted in the last post....  we were in flip flops during last year's pumpkin patch trip.  There were no apple cider dough nuts or pumpkin spiced lattes!  Returning to our favorite pumpkin patch, and seeing wagons of pumpkins, and piles of apples was good for our souls.

And what made it even sweeter for us, is that our pumpkin patch trip was a family affair this year!  The whole family picked pumpkins together : )

Pumpkin patch memories are the best....

We arrived early and beat the crowds, enjoyed beautiful weather and finished with a late lunch of all of my favorite fall southern foods.  We also celebrated Dad's fall birthday.

It truly was the perfect pumpkin patch day.

The next post is covered in pixie dust!

Thanks for reading ; )
