Walt's expression adequately displays how we feel about December...
It's the merriest month of the year!
Here is our December in photos!
Loved dressing Walt for the season.....
I can't get enough!!
December started with a visit from St. Nicholas on December 6th. A special Catholic tradition that I grew up with, and hope to share with Walt...
GrandMom and GrandDad brought something from St. Nick too!
We were able to spend two weeks in a row with Abby, Sam and Jason. Abby celebrated her 5th birthday with a Pirate Fairy party....
Such cute details with pirate hats, a chest full of treasures, and face painting!
But my favorite part was hearing Abby thank each guest for their gift (without being prompted by Mommy), telling them how much she had always wanted it.
Loved spending time with Aunt Jennifer (and Max!) too....
Here are a few photos from our Christmas together....
Chinese food for dinner, followed by an evening of dessert, coffee and games....
perfection.
We took Walt to Lights Under Louisville....
....Christmas shopping...
.....and to see the carolers and a sleigh ride with Santa & Mrs. Claus....
We visited Daddy at work and delivered treats to the department...
.....and we attended this year's Resident Ugly Sweater party.
So nice of this group to continue to include us in their celebrations. Troy is no longer a resident (a fellow), but they continue to invite us to their gatherings. Such good people who we are honored to know and love.
And Walt met his future BFF (finally!).
Walt & Harris.....
A fun evening of silly sweaters and even sillier gifts...
Thank you residents for including us!! Silvia- we missed you so much. It wasn't the same without you!
Here are a few pics from an afternoon of brunch and Christmas at the Galt House.....
....with wonderful friends!
And though it had its own blog post.... a few pics from our Gingerbread and cookie night.
And some from Christmas dinner on the 23rd at my parent's home...
I love how everyone, coincidentally, wore red and green.....though I only managed to take photos of half the people in attendance. Sorry Uncle Matthew and grandparents! ;)
And one of my VERY favorite parts of December....
CHRISTMAS CARDS!
If you sent us a Christmas card (and SO many of you did!)... thank you thank you! I live for them during this month. I literally run to the mailbox every day. We love watching our big bowl of cards grow throughout the month, and read them (repeatedly!) all season long!
And speaking of mail.... were any of you biting your nails, awaiting a last minute Christmas delivery? My Nikon lens broke a few days before Christmas and we stressed over whether the new one would arrive in time for Walt's first Christmas.
I have never been more thankful that our postal service works on Christmas Eve!
Thank you to anyone who works hard on Christmas, so that the rest of us can enjoy the day with our families. We are quick to thank our military.... as we should... but I also have a special place in my heart for the doctors and nurses that work on holidays. Some of our very favorite physicians (we love you Aunt Mona) and Pathology residents (thank you Chiara, Erin, etc.), worked on this day. Physicians make more sacrifices than most realize.... so that they can serve us.
And of course December photos are not complete without Christmas Day ....
but that deserves its own post.
Thank you for reading!
Love,
Kristin
