Longest blog post ever...
(this is what happens when you wait several weeks to upload photos).
If you make it to the end.....would you want to do dinner this weekend?
We must be BFF's.
We are having a wonderful summer!
Troy and I had a few days off so we headed to Columbus for a weekend getaway...
We stayed in Easton at a beautiful Hilton......
....and for some reason they gave us a complimentary upgrade to the Concierge Level with access to the lounge.
We thought we were big time.
The main reason we stayed in Easton was for the Easton Town Center.
It is a BEAUTIFUL (extensive yet quaint), shopping center with tons of shops and restaurants.
We had lunch and then shopped the streets of the town center. Loved visiting the stores that we don't have at home. So so many of them....
And double love this Henri Bendel crossover bag.
I'm not sure why Troy didn't feel it was worth $450.
I told him it was Italian leather.
He was not impressed.
What he was impressed with was this 30 cinema movie theater.
Part of the shopping center is indoors, along with this beautiful cinema. You hand your purchased movie ticket to the attendant and then take the escalator to your seat. With all of the bright lights, it felt very old Hollywood to me. I enjoyed it.
The shopping complex is even more special at night.
All of the tree lined streets are trimmed in lights....
The best part about the Easton Town Center are the 3 hotel properties surrounding it. All of it is within walking distance. It was nice to spend a full day of shopping, seeing a movie, having dinner, and walking back to our room.
Highly recommend the Easton Town Center if you're ever in the Columbus area.
We also spent a day at the beautiful, award winning Columbus Zoo!
It was overcast that day, which is perfect for playing with the camera!!
Very well designed zoo, with neat opportunities to see animal/zoo keeper interactions.....
We love a weekend getaway, and use Nashville for this often. We visited Columbus (Easton) hoping to add it to the road trip list. We're already looking forward to visiting again.
It was a great way to kick off the start of summer!
Columbus isn't all that we've been up to......
We've had lots of dinners with family......
and friends.
Cheryl S and I have become very close friends. We finally included the boys and made a date night of it. We all had the best time and look forward to many more dinner dates.
We've had visits with our Abby.....
...as have Mom and Dad.
Mom and her never ending (Mary Poppins!!) bag of treats for Abby...
We celebrated Memorial Day weekend with the perfect outdoor meal....
Compliments of my parents..... of course!
The start of summer has also brought riverfront dining and walks at the park....
Mom and I have been busy with the summer races!
We've done both the Glo Run (a late night race with music and lights!).....
And the Color Run!!
Both were a blast, but the Color Run was really a neat race! Lots of fun memories made with my momma! I can't wait to do it again with her!
To my fellow race partners- get well and join us soon!
Summer also brings a new year for Troy, professionally. In a couple of weeks he will be in his fourth (and final!!) year of residency.
We attended a farewell dinner to say goodbye to the outgoing residents.
I want you to return to the blog, so I won't go on and on with details. But my husband blew me away that evening. This dinner had nothing to do with us, and yet he was publicly recognized multiple times by Dr. Parker. Poor Troy was three shades of red the entire evening.
And wouldn't you know that when it was time for everyone to say a few words of thanks to the department......
my sweet husband publicly thanked me instead.
I was a wreck.
And the proudest wife in Louisville.
Well..... that's about it for our summer so far.
You made it.
You actually scrolled through a couple hundred photos of mine and Troy's face.
Where would you like to do dinner this weekend?
Hope your summer has started off as sweet as ours has!
Love,
Kristin
