Hodgepodge

Happy Fourth of July my Friends!

This post has absolutely nothing to do with our country's birthday...  we hope to be celebrating that later this weekend....

but instead it's a hodgepodge of photos from the end of June.

If you have nothing better to do on this rainy day.....

have at it :)

The second half of June contained the usual....  time with family and friends.

Mom (Troy's) recently returned from a 3 week trip to Europe!  We spent a nice evening with her and Manuel looking at their photos.

We also celebrated Father's Day.....

...with the best Father I know.

The love my Father gave laid the foundation for the love I would later find.  He showed by example what I should look for in a husband.  I owe so much of not only my childhood happiness, but my current happiness to him.

He told me on the phone a couple of days ago, that no matter how old I get..... to him, I will always be his baby.

I love that feeling.

I love him.

 So much!

And anyone that knows Papa George, knows that he loves me as if I were his flesh and blood. He proudly tells everyone he knows (and even those he doesn't!) that I am his daughter.

He has done so much for us over the past year.

We would truly be lost without him!

Summer also brings slumber parties with Abby.  This one included late night milkshake runs ("we are going in our pajamas??" she asked).....

.....and time at the pool!

Jennifer, Will and Max joined us.  We swam and had a picnic by the pool...

Love my little worms.....

I also spent some time with Ann and baby Chandler!

I took a few photos of him.  Here are a few of my favs.....

Isn't he the sweetest baby boy ever???

Troy and I have enjoyed date nights out......

I did an anniversary post a couple of weeks ago, but never posted this year's "robe" photo!  You may remember the "robe" story from here...

And this wouldn't be an honest post without mentioning how June ended.

Life is not always sunshine and pool side   ;-)

I was reminded this week of the OVERWHELMING love that surrounds me.

A week ago, I had a somewhat unexpected surgery.  A surgery that not many people even knew of.

And yet....   look at all of this.......

Can you even believe this??

Flowers, cards, food, gifts, phone calls and text like you wouldn't believe!?

Honestly, I still can't get over it all.  I never expected to hear the door bell ring after getting home.  But honest to goodness....  Troy was carrying deliveries up to our bedroom for several days!?

I am accustomed to unconditional love (and spoiling!) from both mine and Troy's family.  I never take it for granted, (I realize how fortunate I am in this area), but I know that they will be there.....  always.  I also know that my husband will move mountains for me....

But when friends go out of their way to call, text, send flowers, cookies, baskets, gifts, make a meal, etc., ......   it's overwhelming to me.

It's the perfect reminder of how precious they are.

I am always so proud of the people in my life.  I'm honored to know and love such beautiful people.  But this week, their love was truly something special.

To all my loves:
Whether for flowers, or goodies, or a text conversation in the middle of the night, or a prayer over the phone, thank you!  ALL of you made (and are continuing to make) life better.  Not because you did something for me....   but simply because you are so much to me.  Every day.

I love you all.

And because I refuse to end a blog on a surgery note-

here are a few of my favorite social media images from today!!  I love seeing everyone celebrate the 4th!
