This post has way too many photos.
But I couldn't bring myself to delete a one of them.
With 3 first Christmases for Walt.... it was quite the weekend.
Our first Christmas Eve as a family was just as I had hoped it would be. We stayed in our pajamas... snuggled up with Christmas movies, listened to Christmas music, and baked cookies for Santa.
I couldn't be more sentimental about this cookie plate. It was the one that Kandice, Matthew & I grew up with. We left cookies for Santa on it for many many years. I can still picture where it sat on the counter of my childhood home. Mom always said that it would go to the first grandchild.
Now it belongs to Walt.....
There is something special about putting your baby to bed on Christmas Eve. It's extra sweet.
You know that soon their will be signs of Santa's arrival......
....and that you're only a few winks away from that first Christmas morning.
What a fun morning it was......
.....with lots of memories made.
Our sweet Christmas baby....
I still can't believe that I now have my very own family on Christmas morning.
Little did Walt know that he had another big Christmas waiting on him.
After our Christmas morning, we went to my parents for brunch and family Christmas...
Santa came to GrandMom's and GrandDad's too!
I love the look on Walt's face when he saw his racetrack....
....he turned to my mom with a look of "GrandMom, did you know that there's a racetrack in your living room?" :)
Walt was not the only one that Mr. and Mrs. Claus had gifts for....
But it goes without saying that the best gift of all.... is one another.
What a beautiful and memorable Christmas at his grandparents!
Our weekend ended with Christmas with Troy's family (Mimi's house!)......
Where once again.... Walt seems to be the center of it all...
This next one tickles me. I know Walt is thinking.. "while Aunt Sarah is distracted, posing for the camera, I will now pull her hair...."
; )
Walt had another very big Christmas.....
....as did the rest of the family!
It's no secret that we do Christmas in a big way. It is such a special day and season for all of us. We love to celebrate in every way. To say that we are spoiled big time ....by both sides of the family.... is a major understatement.
But when I look back over these photos...... the "big" things.... are really just the things that take up the most room in your heart.
Which actually.....aren't things at all.
The way these families can't get enough of our sweet baby.... the way they long to be with us.... spend time with us.... and the way they love us. It's the biggest and best part of Christmas.
So many first this Christmas season.
So many new memories and fun moments.
But by far.... my very favorite part of Walt's first Christmas season... was rocking him to sleep while singing "Silent Night." I did so every night.....and I tried to soak up every minute of it. I often cried out tears of thanks while cradling him... thanks to my God... for this sweet baby... my precious husband....
...and for the very first Silent Night.

I hope your Christmas was celebrated in the biggest way possible too. I hope your big things were also the things that took up the most room in your heart. Immeasurable joy.
Immeasurable love.
Happy New Year!
